Michael Panko

Michael Panko YARDVILLE - Michael Panko, 96, of Yardville passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Morris Hall / St. Joseph's Skilled Nursing Center, Lawrenceville. Born in Trenton, Mr. Panko resided there until moving to Yardville Heights with his late wife, Dolores, in 1957. Michael was a Signalman in the U.S. Navy during WWII. After returning home, he attended Rider College and earned his degree in accounting. He retired after 30 years of service as an accountant from the Naval Air Propulsion Test Center in Ewing Township. Michael was an avid golfer and a member of the Peddie Golf Club in Hightstown, where he spent a lot of time over the years. He was also a faithful parishioner of St. Raphael's / Holy Angels Parish and often attended daily mass at St. Raphael's Church. Son of the late George and Sophie Panko, husband of the late Dolores Dahl Panko and brother of the late George and John Panko, Anna Byers and Eleanor Hatrack, he is survived by his nephews Jack Panko of Arlington, VA, Jack and Joseph Byers of Florida and his neice Barbara Weiss of North Hanover. Funeral service will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton (www.KingstonandKemp.com). Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM at St. Raphael's Church, 3500 S. Broad St., Hamilton. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Mausoleum, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Michael's honor to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
