TRENTON - Money Banks Spivey Jr., 63, of Trenton, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013, in Cheverly, Md., surrounded by his loving wife, children, family and friends. He was born in Byromville, GA where he attended Vienna High School. He earned an associate degree from Mercer County Community College in accounting. After graduating, he joined the U.S. Air Force
where he did a tour in Vietnam as a Sergeant Aviation Navigator. He retired from the United States Postal Service after more than 22 years of service, Money enjoyed playing golf and spending time with friends and family. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 220, Sons of Solomon and American Legion Post 18. Money was predeceased by his parents, Money B. Sr. and Leatha Mae Spivey. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Gwendolyn; sons, Christian and Brian (Sahar), one daughter, Syreeta, all of New Jersey; five grandchildren, Kahlil, Cyana, Sabri, Qeyon and Skylar; 12 siblings, Beulah, Spivey-Jones and Thelma Spivey-Woolfork, both of Georgia, Helen Spivey-Wimberly and Vernita Spivey, both of New York, Linda Spivey-Johnson of Virginia, Vivian Spivey-Jamison of South Carolina, Marvin Spivey (Christine) of New York, Sedessia Spivey-Swinton (Stanley) of Georgia, Sharon Spivey-Eldrige (Reginald) of Florida, Beverly Spivey and Tony Spivey (Deborah) of Virginia, and Frank Spivey (Billie-Jo) of New York; a special aunt, Euloa Spivey and cousin, Vickie; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Home Going services will be on Thursday, October 24, 2013, at Grace Cathedral Fellowship Ministries, Inc., 1217 Calhoun St., Trenton. Interment will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, Pa. Arrangements are under the direction of Tunsil Funeral Home of Palmyra.
