Ralph Soco

BROWN MILLS - Ralph Soco, 77, of Browns Mills, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Browns Mills.
Born in the Phillipines, he was a native of Hawaii. He was a retired staff sergeant after serving 21 years in the U.S. Army. He was a decorated veteran of the Korean War having served one tour and two tours of duty in Vietnam. He received the Bronze star and was awarded Air Combat Medal for 25 flights over Vietnam during combat. While stationed in Germany he met his late wife, Elizabeth.
After his discharge from the Army he settled in Browns Mills and went to work for the U.S. Postal Service in Hamilton Township, where he worked from 1973 to 1998.
Ralph was a member of the Browns Mills Senior Citizens Club, the VFW and volunteered for the Red Cross.
Husband of the late Elizabeth, He was the beloved father of Sonja C. Wiedman and husband Marc and dear Opa of Gabrielle and Gerald Soco, all of Browns Mills; and dear companion of Ceclia Lozaga of Browns Mills. He is also survived by one son, Gerald Soco of Smyrna, Ga.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to Ralph's visitation from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Lankenau Funeral Home, 370 Lakehurst Road, Browns Mills, followed by his funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Interment with full military honors will be in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover Township.
