Rosa P. Boynton-Watkins

TRENTON - Rosa P. Boynton-Watkins, age 79, of Trenton, passed away Sept. 30, 2012, at Capital Health System-Hopewell. Born in Chippley, Fla., she had lived in Trenton for 55 years. She was educated in the North Carolina school system and graduated from Trenton Central High Night School. She retired from Carrier Clinic and Princeton House after many years of service. She was also employed by the City of Trenton as a crossing guard. Rosa was a former member of Union Baptist Church and the Metro Civic League, a lifelong member of the NAACP, A. Philip Randolph Institute, and many community organizations.
Preceded in death by her parents, John and Birdies Richardson, husband, Willie C. Watkins, former husband, Bennie W. Boynton, three sisters, Edna Boynton, Pauline Hardy and Gertrude Smith. She is survived by two loving children, Carl W. Boynton (Annette) and Annie C. Boynton-Jacobs (Henry), brother, Rev. Robert Richardson, two sisters, Willie Mae Bellamy and Ethel Adams, four grandchildren, Charles, Antione, Diedre and Alex, a host of great-grandchildren, two nieces, Betty and Anette, two nephews, Robert Jr. and Kevin, the Watkins family, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 11) at Brinson Memorial Church Inc., 200-204 Brinton Ave., Trenton. Calling hours will be 9 am until time of service at the church. Interment will be private. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home, Trenton.
