TRENTON - Shirley Worley, of Trenton, passed away on April 26, 2013 at Capital Health Regional Medical Center, Trenton. She was born March 16, 1943, in Macon, Ga. She later spread her wings and moved to Trenton, N.J. Here she attended and graduated from Trenton Central High School and later met her soul mate, Vincent Jackson, in 1968. In her early years Shirley played baseball and ran track. Shirley also enjoyed going to Atlantic City and bowling. She worked at the Trenton Board of Education and retired after 25 years of service.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Mildred Hopkins, son, Lewis Hopkins, and grandson, Jamel "Lefty" Worley.
In her loving memory she leaves her soul mate, Vincent Jackson, her children, Brenda, Eddie, Kennedy (Pat), Bruce and Shannon Worley, 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sister, Elaine Campbell, brother Lewis Hopkins III, two dear nieces, and a host of cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at the Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton.
Calling hours will be 9 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
Interment Ewing Cemetery.
