TRENTON - Willie James Genwright, 83, of Trenton, passed away on September 18, 2013, at Arcadia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hamilton.
Born in Mullins, S.C., Willie was educated in the Zion, S.C. public school system. He worked in maintenance for many years at Looman Associates of New York, Kaplan & Associates of Trenton, and The Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville. Willie was a member of Everbee Baptist Church in Smithboro, S.C. and later attended Macedonia Baptist Church.
He was predeceased by his parents, Wade and Hattie Genwright, brother of the late Ranie Genwright, Joe Nathan Genwright and Alice Bethea. Willie is survived by his wife of 57 years, Thelma Genwright; his sons, James Genwright (Bailey), Wilton Genwright (Anita) and Rodney Genwright; his daughter, Hattie Brown (Perry); four brothers, Sylvester Genwright, Henry Genwright (Janie), Ulysee Genwright (Lillie Bell), Malcolm Roy Genwright (Hattie); two sisters, Vondell Davis (Willie) and Verdell Davis (Rufus); seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 25, at Greater Word to the World, 31 W. Front St., Trenton. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Arrangements are by Campbell Funeral Chapel, Trenton.
