Charles Van Fleet

STOCKTON - Charles Van Fleet, 65, of Stockton, died on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
Born in Trenton, Mr. Van Fleet was raised in Lambertville and was a longtime Stockton resident. He was the general manager of the Howard Johnson Motor Lodge in Lawrence for the past 15 years. Earlier he had served as the controller for the Shop-Rite Supermarket in Flemington. He was a member and Past Grand Knight for the St. John the Evangelist Knights of Columbus and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, both in Lambertville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was the son of the late Charles and Dorris Scott Van Fleet and the brother of the late Michael R. Van Fleet. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Gorski; his children, Jennifer Van Fleet, Ginni Meyer and her husband Thomas and Shawn Van Fleet; his grandchildren, Amanda Faraone, Christopher Meyer, Joseph Meyer, Brittaney Meyer, Aiden Meyer and Anthony Meyer all of Stockton; his sister, Christina J. Cooper of Stockton; his brothers, James of Florida City, Fla., Thomas of Ringoes and John E. of Lambertville; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday (Jan. 3) at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, 21 York St., Lambertville, NJ 08530. Interment to follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, Pa. Calling hours at the funeral home on Monday from 9 a.m. until the start of services.
