YARDLEY, Pa. - Anthony "Tony" Bruno, 91, of Yardley formerly of Columbus, N.J. passed away on December 31, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. |
Born in New York City, and raised in Hudson County, N.J., Tony is the son of the late Pasquale and Aldorsino Bruno.
Tony retired in 1984 after 40 years as a supervisor for Ferguson Iron Works based in North Bergen, N.J. He was also a graduate from the U.S. Air Force Cadet program prior to serving as a navigator during World War II.
Tony was a loving husband and caring father who worked tirelessly to provide for his family and provide his children with a college education. He was always well-liked by others and his work ethic was inspiring to many. He cared deeply about his parents, siblings, wife and children. Being a World War II vet, he took his responsibilities seriously and constantly lived up to his values.
Surviving are his loving wife of 68 years, Amelia (Amy) Bruno; son, Tony Bruno and daughter-in-law Robin Bruno who reside in Ocean City, N.J.; son, Michael Bruno and daughter-in-law Kim Bruno, who reside in Pennington, N.J.; five grandchildren, Andrew, Alex, Kelsey, Karli and Matthew; a brother, Charlie Bruno of Carlstadt, N.J.; two sisters, Helen Manna and Catherine Grassi of Manchester, N.J.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel in the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Arneystown N.J.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Hartmann Memorial Home, 2830 Nottingham Way, Mercerville N.J.
