Joel P. Harris YARDVILLE - Joel P. Harris, age 72, of Yardville, entered into God's care on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Philadelphia Pa, he resided in the greater Trenton area for 72 years. Joel served on the Trenton Fire Department for 32 years at Engines 10, 7 and 6, retiring as Captain in 2000. He served as President of the Trenton FMBA Local 6 and also as a member of the Legislative Committee of the New Jersey State FMBA. Joel was a Committee Member for the Mizopalko - Woods Scholarship Fund, organizing the annual golf tournament to honor the fallen fire fighters Robert F. Mizopalko and Joseph F. Woods Jr.. Joel's hobbies included golfing, fishing and bowling. Most of all he loved to spend time with his family and have lunch with the guys. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Eleanor (Lloyd) Harris, He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, JoAnn (Yacovino) Harris; three children, Joel and fiance Eileen Tuffy, Lori Tomasulo and husband Michael and Craig and wife Jeanette; a brother Warren and wife Martha, a sister Jean Mayer and husband Paul; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Martin J. and MaryAnn Flynn, and Daniel and Sarah Yacovino; three grandchildren, Michael and Ryan Tomasulo and Olivia Rose Harris and many nieces, nephews and friends. The Funeral will be held 10:00 am Monday May 12, 2014 from D'Errico Whitehorse Mercerville Chapel, 2365 Whitehorse Mercerville Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619. Clergy from the area will officiate.
