Judith Ann DeSandre-Boyd

1939 - 2014

BRISTOL, Pa. - Judith Ann DeSandre-Boyd, 74, of Bristol, died January 11, 2014 in the ICU at Kindred Hospital, Philadelphia, with her loving family by her side.
Born on June 6, 1939, in Trenton, N.J, she was the daughter of the late Ruth Fossum-Gaffney and Robert Fossum and stepfather Edward Gaffney. She graduated from Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls in Philadelphia in 1957. Judy graduated from Temple University Nursing Program as a LPN and Mercer County Community College as a Registered Nurse. She worked for 25 years for the State of New Jersey at the Ann Klein Forensic Center as a Nursing RN Supervisor retiring in 1999. Judy also worked part-time for many years at Helene Fuld Hospital in the ER. Judy was an accomplished oboe player. She was 1st chair in the Southampton Community Band in Upper Bucks County. Judy and her husband, Bruce, were passionate animal lovers and provided a loving home to rescue animals over the years. Judy loved being involved in her grandchildren's lives, frequently attending sporting games, musical concerts and dance recitals. Judy was a long time member of St. Mark Roman Catholic Church in Bristol.
She is survived by her husband Bruce Boyd, the love of her life for the past 38 years, of Bristol. Her three sons, Michael DeSandre and his wife Susan of Lawrence, Kansas, Mitchell DeSandre of Columbus, N.J and Marc DeSandre and his wife Anna of Pocono Lake; her four grandchildren, Ashley DeSandre and her fiancé Garrett Scarlett of Overland Park, Kansas, Drew and Christian DeSandre of Columbus, N.J and Morgan DeSandre of Pocono Lake; her two step-children, Bruce Boyd Jr. and his wife Natasha of Trenton, N.J. and Yvette Boyd of Franklin Park, N.J her four step-grandchildren, Christopher, Maurice, Brooke and Nigel. She is also survived by her faithful four legged companions, Gracie, Cheyenne and Sandy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, 11 a.m. at St. Mark Church, Bristol Borough. Interment, St. Mary Cemetery, Trenton, N.J. Friends may call Wednesday from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at the Wade Funeral Home, 1002 Radcliffe St., Bristol Borough.
