Sydney Bessel HAMILTON - Sydney Bessel, 88, of Hamilton passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at Hamilton Continuing Care Center, Hamilton. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he lived in New Jersey for most of his life. Sydney served in the U.S. Navy and was retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Tech. Sgt. after 21 years of service that included two tours of overseas duty. Following his discharge, he was employed with IMO DeLaval of Hamilton for 18 years, Robert Hall Clothing Co. of Lawrenceville for 10 years, and the Mercer County Park Commission for 11 years. He was a member of St. Raphael's / Holy Angel's Parish and VFW Post #3525, Hamilton. He enjoyed his family and good movies. Son of the late Adolph and Helen Bessel and widower of the late Grace Bessel, he is survived by his wife Patricia McManus Bessel, his children with his first wife, Helene Garrison, Armida and Peter Bella II, Anthony Bessel, Cindy and Steven Talerico and Jennifer and Steven Czap, his children through marriage with his second wife, Eileen and William Tozzi, Diane and Joseph Gaynor and Lorraine Gabriel, his grandchildren Andrew Dzurisin, Michael Czap, Mikayla Czap, Ava Talerico, Matthew Angeli, William Tozzi, Christine Tozzi, Eryn Gaynor, Lauren Gaynor and Joseph Gaynor. Funeral Service will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. from Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton (www.KingstonandKemp.com). Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Raphael's Church, 3500 S. Broad St., Hamilton. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Mausoleum, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
