NEWTOWN, Pa. - Alexander F. "Al" Anthony, Jr., 92, of Newtown, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne.|
Born in Trenton, N.J., where he lived most of his life, Al had resided in Newtown for the past 30 years. He was vice president of sales for AAA Trucking Company in Hamilton. In his later years, he was co-owner of the Jane Anthony Gallery in Newtown. An avid golfer, Al was a member of the Trenton Country Club for 46 years. He was also a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II.
Predeceased by his parents, Alexander F. Anthony and Catherine (Sisto) Anthony, his wife, Margaret (Beres) Anthony and a sister, Catherine (Anthony) Petrino, he is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Jane G. (Greer) Anthony; his son, Alexander "Skip" F. Anthony, III and wife Leslie of Winter Springs, Fla.; his daughter, Alison M. (Anthony) Wilde and husband Gary of Ivyland; five grandchildren, two nephews, and many friends.
Calling hours will be Saturday, May 4, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave., Hamilton, N.J. (Visit www.murphyfh.com for additional information.) Roman Catholic funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, Cedar Lane, Hamilton, N.J.
