HAMILTON -Clare M. Lertch, 86, of Hamilton Township, entered into God's care Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Lertch was a graduate of Cathedral High School and was the editor-in-chief of the school newspaper. She was employed by Educational Testing Service, Princeton, as a budget analyst, prior to her retirement
Mrs. Lertch was a member of Our Lady of Sorrow/St. Anthony Parish in Hamilton. She enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, going on family cruises, Broadway shows and playing bingo. In her spare time, Clare enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She was a devoted daughter, loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Clara (Blome) Bauerle, her loving husband of 50 years, Charles H. Lertch, and her sons, Terrance and James, she is survived by her children, Timothy Lertch, Robert Lertch, Thomas Lertch and wife Carrie, Christine Reiss and husband Ken, Diane Horton and husband Sam and Susan Lertch, whom she lived with; three grandchildren, Michael and Jessica Lertch and Casey Reiss; a sister; Marion (bauerle) Otto and husband Jule and a brother; Donald Bauerle and Wife Genevieve. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday (Dec. 31) from D'Errico Whitehorse Mercerville Chapel, 2365 Whitehorse Mercerville Road, Hamilton. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday (Dec. 31) at St. Anthony Church, 626 South Olden Ave., Hamilton. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 30) at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Our Lady of Sorrows/St. Anthony's Parish, 3816 East State Street Ext., Hamilton, NJ 08619.
