Daniel T. Schweikert Obituary
WILLINGBORO - Daniel T. Schweikert, 79, a long time resident of Willingboro, died on May 13, 2014.
Daniel was born in Middle Village, Queens, N.Y. on October 22, 1934.
He was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Lillian (McGuinness) Schweikert, and sister, Maureen (Olin) MacNeil. Loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, Daniel is survived by his wife of 55 years, Veronica (Loennecker); four daughters, Mary Ann Hutchison (Joseph), Theresa Beaver (Gene), Kathleen Schweikert, Patricia Gurba (Andrew); nine grandchildren, Colleen, Christine, Kimberly, Daniel, John Hutchison, Michael Beaver, Kathleen, Elizabeth, Sean Gurba; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters- in-law.
Daniel retired from the U.S.D.A. in 1997. He was a frequent contributor to the Burlington County Times. A veteran of the United States Navy, Dan served his country in the Korean War on the Coral Sea from 1952-1955. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 79 and VFW Post No. 4914. Daniel touched hundreds of children's lives as the president of Corpus Christi CYO and as a coach for many years of various sports teams. Dan was a staunch supporter of the Right to Life movement, an avid reader and writer, and a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan (since 1941). Daniel will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will begin on Monday, May 19, at 9:30 a.m. at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mount Holly. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:15 a.m. Monday, May 19, at the St. John Neumann Church, 560 Walton Ave., Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hainesport. Friends may call on Sunday, May 18, from 2 to 4 and again from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Perinchief Chapels at the address above.
