UPPER FREEHOLD - E. Carol "Pinky" Carothers, 65, of Imlaystown, passed away July 1, 2013, at home.
Carol was born in Trenton and had been a resident of Imlaystown for the past four years. She was retired from the State of New Jersey, Department of Environmental Protection.
Daughter of the late, Henry and Barbara Helfrich Elsinger, she is survived by her husband, William H. Carothers Sr.; a brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Mary Elsinger of Vermont, sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Gary Mayhew of Hamilton; stepchildren, William H. Carothers Jr. and Nicole of Rhode Island, Shelley and Rob Stroehlein of New Egypt; nieces and nephews, Debra and Paul Hoover, Patti Gaskill, Barbara and Bret Morrison, Susan and Michael Kissel, Linda and David Barlow, Christine and Brian McClung, Janet and Vincent Lucidi, Maryann and Chris McTamney, Kathy and Ted Deyoe, Kim and Derek Fuller, Eric and Jen Elsinger; three grandsons, Matthew and William Carothers and Robert Stroehlein; many great-nieces and -nephews
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 6, at 10 a.m. at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home, 2946 South Broad St. Hamilton. The Rev. Aaron Richter will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
