Although her time on earth was cut far too short, she lived a wonderful, full life filled with many great accomplishments. Emily was an avid traveler and enjoyed trips around the globe with family, friends and for business. She was a voracious reader, expert knitter, avid music lover and most of all, loved to spend time at the Jersey Shore with her family. The many summers she spent at the Shore were among her happiest times in life. During Emily's illness, she always exuded a positive, upbeat spirit. She never complained and always, always focused on the bright side. Her incredible strength, resilience and humor throughout it all were an inspiration to her friends and family.
Predeceased by her grandparents, Leroy and Elizabeth Easter and Dorothy DuFlo, she is survived by her parents, John Easter and Janet (DuFlo) Easter, sister, Sara (Easter) Kirner, brother-in-law, Kevin Kirner, niece, Claire Kirner, nephew, Benjamin Kirner, grandfather, James DuFlo and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Emily is also survived by many loving friends, many of whom have showered Emily with prayers and support during this journey. The family gives special thanks to Emily's friends, colleagues from Hawkins International, Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice, Dr. Gabriel Sara and the team at St Luke's/Roosevelt Hospital.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 4680 Nottingham Way, Hamilton, NJ 08690. Interment will follow. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square.
