Obituary Condolences

EWING - Everett Baxter, Sr., 78, died on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Compassionate Care Hospice, St. Francis Medical Center.
Born in Branchville, S.C., he graduated from Orangeburg County public schools before relocating to the Trenton-Ewing area 61 years ago. Everett continued his education at Mercer County Community College, majoring in accounting. He served a tour of duty with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was awarded the National Defense Service and Good Conduct medals. He was honorably discharged in June 1955. Everett was employed for 30 years as a sheet metal mechanic by New Brunswick Scientific Company, Edison.
Predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Lucille Baxter, he is survived by his wife, Vivian Baxter of Ewing; three sons, Edward J. Wilson of Milwaukee, Wisc., Everett Baxter, Jr. (Angel) of Columbia, Md. and Kevin W. Baxter (Ashanti) of Ewing; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sucelia Watson of Ewing and Gloria Jean Baxter of Orangeburg, S.C.; six brothers, Rev. Ernest Baxter of Philadelphia, Roger and Tom Baxter, both of Trenton, Johnnie and Clyde Baxter, both of Orangeburg, S.C. and Jerry Baxter of Bridgeport Conn.; his stepmother, Carrie Baxter of Orangeburg, S.C.; two sisters-in-law, Carol and Norma Fishburne, both of Trenton; two brothers-in-law, Charles Fishburne (Alice) of Trenton and Esdone Fishburne of Cottageville, S.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 5, at Greater Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, 34 Pennington Ave., Pastor J. Stanley Justice officiating. Calling hours are from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church. Entombment will be at Ewing Church Cemetery, Ewing. Arrangements are by Anderson Funeral Service, Trenton.
