Frank Charles Ferdetta, Sr., 85, of Ewing passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Capital Health Systems at Fuld in Trenton with his loving family at his side. Born in Trenton, Mr. Ferdetta was a lifelong area resident. He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran. He retired from the Homasote Company in Ewing Township after more than 20 years of employment. He was a member of the Ewing Township Senior Citizens Club the Busy C's. Frank loved to bowl in the past and was an avid sports fan, especially the NY Yankees. He cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Son of the late Salvatore and Mary (Muto) Ferdetta, brother of the late Rose Feehan, Santina Suarez, Alphonse and John Ferdetta, brother-in-law of the late Elvira Maty, he is survived by his loving wife of 57 years; Jean V. (Oliveri) Ferdetta; his three children; Frank Ferdetta Jr. and wife Catherine M.; Gina Marie and husband Timothy Hoy; Joanne and husband Timothy Herbert; six grandchildren; Robin and husband Kevin Phelan; Matthew Ferdetta and wife Megan; Jason Siminitus and wife Marie; Jamie and husband Kevin Ellmer; Timothy Herbert and fiancé Kerry DeKock; and Shawn Herbert; five great-grandchildren; Brady and Drew Phelan; Mia Siminitus; Ava Ferdetta; and Aubrey Ellmer; two sisters; Josephine Hannum; and Mary and husband Bob Krecicki; a brother; Samuel and Kay Ferdetta; a sister-in-law; Jean Ferdetta; a brother-in-law; John Maty; and many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday (November 19) at 10 a.m. at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 29 E. Paul Ave., Trenton, NJ. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, 400 Woolsey St., Hamilton, NJ. Friends and family may call on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Monday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Parkside Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 1584 Parkside Ave., Ewing, NJ 08638. Memorial contributions may be made in Frank's memory to the , 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902.
