Gylia Maria Hollman-Tucker

Obituary Condolences

Gylia "Maria" Hollman-Tucker of Bordentown Township, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2013 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton with her loving husband by her side.
Born in Germany, she was a lifelong area resident who dedicated her life teaching in Trenton, Rancocas Valley, and Mercer County Community College. She held a Masters in Education and a Bachelors of Science. She was employed for over three decades by the Trenton Board of Education as a science teacher before retiring in 2011. Maria loved to work in her garden, roses were her favorite. She was an avid shopper who loved handbags, shoes and cosmetics. She was a bargain hunter and loved the thrill of a great deal and if she had a free moment her nose would be buried in a book. She was an active member of TEA, MCREA, NJREA, NEA,the Bordentown Elks and the American Legion. Along with her husband, she was an antique car and truck enthusiast. Maria posse ssed a quick wit and an extensive vocabulary that her friends will fondly remember her for.
Maria was predeceased by her parents and brother in law Fred (Sonny) Tucker, and her canine companion friend; Rusty.
Left to Cherish Maria's wonderful memory is her devoted and loving husband for over 20 years; Howard J Tucker, Sr.; her step-daughter; Michele Tucker and her husband and two children; her brother's; Phil and Tommy; her sister-in-law; Sherry Tucker; brother and sisters-in-law; Joan Solarsky; William (Bill) and Marilyn Tucker; and David and Dorothy Tucker; nephew; David W. Tucker and his wife Lisa Tucker; and their three children; Matthew; David; and Joseph Tucker. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, and great friends and her very best friend Colleen will deeply miss her. A special thanks to all of the doctor's and nurses (Julie) who compassionately cared for her at Capital Health and Robert Wood Johnson.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Saturday (July 20) at 2 p.m. at the Elks Lodge 11 Amboy Road Bordentown Twp. NJ 08505
In Lieu of Flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made in Maria's name to:The Mercer County NJ Chapter of the 3076 Princeton Pike, Lawrenceville Nj 08648
Arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the direct care and coordination of David C. Chiacchio of Chiacchio Southview Funeral Home and his dedicated staff.
