Obituary Condolences

Herbert J. Carmichael, 91, of Trenton died Friday, December 14, 2012 at Virtua Memorial Hospital, Mt. Holly.
Born in Sanford, NC, Mr. Carmichael moved to Trenton in 1933. He was a member of Holy Cross Church where he served on the Deacon and Trustee Boards and as a Sunday School Teacher.
He received a BS Degree from Indiana University, a MA Degree from the graduate of School of Arts and Sciences, New York University and MS Degree from Rutgers University School of Library Science.
He was and honorably discharged US Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of American Legion Mitchell Davis Post #182 and also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He was employed as a high school teacher and school librarian for 32 and a half years.
Predeceased by his parents, Edward Carmichael and Bessie Carmichael Wicker, four sisters Evelyn Smith, Eala Mae Williams, Willa Mae Wicker, and Bessie Wicker and one brother E, ddie Smith.
Surviving are one sister; Ludean Wicker Livingston; seven nieces; Barbara Gaskins; Sharon White-Johnson; Francine Mathis; Yvonne Bradsberry; Vancille Jackson; Denise Clark-Gibson; and Traci Williams,(with whom he resided); one nephew; Malcolm Clark; special great-nephews; Stephen and Brandon Peart; special great-nieces; Mikeala Burnette and Skyler Peart; special friends; John Hemphill; Harold Logan; Edward and Mildred Watson and Martha Bellamy; his Holy Cross Church family; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be Friday (Dec. 21) at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Church of Christ Written in Heaven 500 E. State St. Trenton, NJ. Entombment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton. Calling hours will be Friday from 9-11 a.m. at the church. Arrangements are by Campbell Funeral Chapel, Trenton.
