Born in Fieldsboro, John was educated in the Bordentown school system and attended Mercer County Community College. He was an honorably discharged United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from Amtrak Corporation after 25 years of service He was predeceased by his mother, Evelyn Margaret Johnson, his father, James Eli Reeves, and his brothers, James "Jimmy" Reeves and Richard "Mustard" Johnson. He is survived by a brother, Calvin Gunther of Philadelphia; a sister, Flossie Reeves of Orlando, Fla.; two sons, Donald D. Harper Sr. and Dewight Fernandez; two daughters; Tanzanicka Reeves of Trenton and Dominique Reeves of Camden; two nieces, Lachisha Descartes and Leilani Lewis; five nephews, Quinn and Courtney Ezekial, Billy Thomas, Kevin Reeves and Demetrius Fooks; a dear friend, Rosalind Page of Ewing; several grandchildren, great-nieces and -nephews, many cousins and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ Baptist Church, 950 Jacksonville Road, Burlington Township, NJ 08016. Calling hours will be from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. Arrangements are by Campbell Funeral Chapel, Trenton.
