Julia "Naomi" Blount departed this life on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at the Cancer Treatment Centers America in Philadelphia.
Naomi was born in Trenton to William and Alberta Lacey on July 23, 1948. She graduated from St. Mary's Cathedral in 1966 and went on to earn a nursing degree from Mercer Medical Center. She retired from Trenton Psychiatric Hospital after 27 years.
Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, her godparents, Herman Robinson and Flossie Gurley, two brothers, Herbert, John Paul, and one sister, Mary "Millie." Naomi is survived by her son, Vincent Lacey (Veronica); daughter, Lisa Blount (Mark); sisters, Ethel (Webster) Hemby and Frances Lacey and her brothers, William and Herman Lacey; eight grandchildren, Jovan Bryant, Everton Harris, Kievanna, Arianna, Aaliyah and Vincent Lacey Jr., Jahaad and Messiah Wilkins; and a great-granddaughter, Jenna A. Bryant.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America and friends for their wonderful support during this time. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, 340 Rev. S. Howard Woodson Way, Trenton, on Jan. 18. Calling hours will be 9 a.m. until time of services at the church. Pastor Terry Collins of The Victorious Church of Ewing, officiating. Interment Ewing Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home, Trenton.
