HAMILTON - Kenneth B. Olsen, 74, passed away suddenly at his home on November 9, 2012. Born in Trenton and raised in Yardville, he had resided in Ewing before moving to Hamilton Township 16 years ago. He was self-employed as a mason/carpenter and later retired from the College of New Jersey, where he worked as a mason/plasterer. He was a 5 year Navy Veteran, where he became an accomplished boxer and served with the Naval Honor Guard in Washington. Ken was a member of the VFW Post 491 of Yardville, the Trenton Ancient Order of Hibernians and played in the 1951 inaugural season of the Little Bigger League, which later became Babe Ruth Baseball.
Son of the late Allen and Rose Olsen and the brother of the late Carole Turner he is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Catherine A. Olsen (nee MacFarlane) his two sons and daughters-in-law: Ken and Mary Olsen of Delaware and Kristopher and Terri Olsen of Hamilton, five grandchildren: Sarah, Claudia, Ian, Camille, and Peyton, his brother Allen Olsen, his sister and brother-in-law Margaret and Ronald Reinhardt of Florida, Uncle Howard and Angie Tarangel, special cousin Ginger Rubino, long time dear friend Mary Ellen Haines and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 16 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Sunshine Foundation, 1041 Mill Creek Drive, Feasterville, PA 19053.
