Ladene Elizabeth Fairbanks

Obituary Condolences

TRENTON - Ladene Elizabeth (Potts) Fairbanks passed away on September 19, 2013, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, William and Rosanne Fairbanks, after a long and hard fought battle with cancer. She was gracious throughout her battle and did whatever she could every day to ensure she was not a burden. Her Granddaughter, Kate, will miss the many daily lunches they shared. On September 18 Ladene celebrated her 83rd birthday surrounded by her family.
Ladene was born in, and a lifelong resident of, Trenton. Trenton was where she met her husband, Joseph C. Fairbanks Sr., whom she was happily married to for 59 years, until his passing in April of 2011. She resided on Beatty Street for most of her life, where she raised her five children and spent countless hours with her many grandchildren, who referred to her as Meme. One of her greatest joys was cooking for her family and keeping family traditions alive, such as baking Christmas cookies and Meme cake, exceptional homemade tomato sauce, traditional pinto beans, and mac and cheese Friday nights. These will be passed on to her children and grandchildren, keeping her memory alive for generations to come.
Wife of the late Joseph C. Fairbanks Sr., she is survived by her sons, William (Rosanne) of Hamilton, Joseph (Marti-Ann) of McMurray, Pa., Michael of Sicklerville, daughters, Kathy Petroski (Dave) of Smith Mountain Lake, Va. and Karen Septak (Jose Morales) of Willingboro. Also survived by grandchildren, Nicole Leonard (Mike), Joseph Wojciechowski (Alma) and David Wojciechowski, Victoria Esposito (Robert), William and Kate Fairbanks, Tim and Nick Septak, Joshua Morales, Joseph, Jessie, Jenna Fairbanks, and Jaden, Raina and Skyler Fairbanks, great-grandchildren, Dylan and Jillian Leonard, and Baby Esposito, due in February, as well as other relatives and dear friends, all of whom will miss her greatly.
A special thank you to St. Francis Compassionate Care for the comfort and care they provided to Ladene and her family.
A memorial service will be held at noon on Wednesday, September 25, at Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton. (KingstonandKemp.com). Interment of cremated remains will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover Township. Relatives and friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
Due to cemetery regulations restricting flowers, donations may be sent to Ladene's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or, online, at www.donors@stjude.org.
