MANSFIELD - Mary E. Fazekas, 84, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013.
Mrs. Fazekas was born in Trenton, resided in Hamilton for 50 years and moved to Columbus six years ago. She was retired from the State of New Jersey, Department of Human Services. She was formerly employed at Bayer Aspirin, the office of Dr. Cohen & Saltstein and at Johnson Jewelers. Mrs. Fazekas was a member of the New Jerusalem Christian Church where she was an original member and deaconess. She loved to travel.
Daughter of the late, Anton and Elizabeth Wentzler Schpreitzer, she is survived by her husband of 61 years, John W. Fazekas; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda A. and Rick DiJacklin of Hamilton; a son, Frank A. Fazekas of Columbus; granddaughters, Jennifer DeBake and her fiancé Matthew Chambers, Carolann DeBake and Ryan Chambers; her great-granddaughter, Maddie Chambers; her sister, Katherine Hughes of Mooresville, N.C.; nieces, Karin Hancikovsky, Karol Engler and Kathy Martin and several other nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home, 2946 South Broad St., Hamilton. The Rev. Doug Linser will officiate. Interment will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Jerusalem Christian Church, PO Box 140, Columbus, NJ 08022.
