Mary Louise Small Obituary
HAMILTON - Mary Louise (nee Horan) Small, 86, of Hamilton, passed away at home on Saturday March 8, 2014 with her loving family by her side.
Born and raised in Trenton, she graduated from Trenton Central High School and attended Rider University. She moved to Hamilton Township and had been a resident since 1960.
During her career she worked for the State of New Jersey, Department of Transportation and Area Auto Racing News. In 1974, she began working for the County of Mercer Engineering Department and retired as a supervising clerk stenographer in March of 1992.
Mary was a member of St. Raphael-Holy Angels Parish and its Altar Rosary Society, Mt. Carmel Guild, and a Sayen House patron for many years. For 10 years, she served as the committeewoman in the 14th District for the Hamilton Democratic Committee. She was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan, as well as enjoying trips to Atlantic City, Broadway shows, playing cards, crossword puzzles, traveling and family gatherings.
Daughter of the late Joseph M. and Mary E. McCreavy Horan, wife of the late John (Spark) H. Small, and sister of the late Joseph A. "Tony" Horan, William G. Horan and Timothy P. Horan, she is survived by son, Richard Small; a daughter, Jill and her husband Jeff Moyer; a daughter-in-law Debbie Small; twin granddaughters, Lauren and Jennifer Small all of Hamilton, a grandson, Ian Z. Moyer of Grantsville, Utah; a brother, Robert Horan; a sister-in-law, Nancy L. Horan; an aunt, Eileen Horan, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends
Special thank you to Tanya Ketsko, her primary caregiver; her longtime friend Maria Foster; caregiver Cheri Mislan, and to all her friends and family who cared for her. Also, her two granddoggies, Zoie (woozy) and Lily who comforted her and brought her much joy
Friends may call from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday and 9:30 a.m. Friday until departure for church at M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave, Hamilton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday from St.Raphael-Holy Angels Catholic Chuch, 3500 S. Broad St., Hamilton. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamilton.
