Mychaylo (Michael) Laszyn HAMILTON - Mychaylo (Michael) Laszyn, 66 of Hamilton Township, NJ, passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside on Thursday October 24, 2013 at University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Born in Horayets, Ukraine, Mychaylo came to the United States in 1973. Mr. Laszyn was a member and a former president of the Ukrainian American Youth Association (SUM-Trenton Branch), the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA-Trenton branch) and the Organization for Defense of Four Freedoms of Ukraine (ODFFU-Trenton branch). He was a member of St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church, where he served on the Church Committee. He was also a member of the Ukrainian Providence Association. Mychaylo loved to sing and he was a member of St. Josaphat's Church Choir of which he was a co-founder. He was also a member of the Prometheus Ukrainian Male Chorus of Philadelphia. Son of the late Ivan and Kateryna Laszyn, Mychaylo is survived by his loving family, his wife of 40 years, Daria Wozniak Laszyn and his sons Taras (Terry) and Andriy (Andrew). He is also survived by his sister Maria Jawornicka, niece Anna Klimowicz and her husband Yarko and children, Mychaylo and Natalya of Poland. In addition, he is survived by his mother-in-law Kateryna Wozniak of Hamilton, brothers-in-law Joseph Wozniak and his wife Olya of Yardley PA and Bohdan Wozniak, his wife Mary and their children Stefko and Larysa of Warrington PA, along with many other family members in Ukraine, Poland and the United States. Mychaylo's hobbies included traveling, driving, bicycling, singing, working on cars, riding his motorcycle, swimming, and most of all volunteering. He was always there to provide a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He always put the needs of others in front of his own.
