On Sunday, January 6, 2013, god called Nebraster "Bud" Bowman home to his eternal rest from Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Pa. Mr. Bowman was born on October 6, 1929 in Trenton to the late Lee and Lula Bowman,
Preceding him in death was his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth Bowman, one brother, Richard Bowman and one sister, Omega Boman-Dallas.
"Bud" as he was affectionately known, attended Trenton Public School system graduating from Trenton Central High School in 1948. After graduating, he enlisted in the Army serving in the Korean conflict. After finishing his tour of duty, he moved to Philadelphia PA. He worked as a security guard at the Philadelphia Museum until he retired. He was active in speaking engagements concering Black History,
Loving memories will be cherished by his daughters; Evita Bowman-Davis, one granddaughter; Chanea Davis, one grandson; Khiry Johnson, two great-grandsons; Dean Harvey and Khiry Johnson Jr, two sisters from Trenton; Ozzalee Bowman-Jackson and Berline Bowman-Pettigrew and one devoted nephew; Ricardo Lee Hearns and many other nieces and nephews and friends.
Viewing will be held on Saturday (Jan. 12) at 9:30 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 1006 W. York St. Philadelphia, PA, 19133. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Interment will be held at Northwood Cemetery in Philadelphia.
