EWING - Willie Carolyn Roberts, 66, of Ewing, entered into eternal rest on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Chandler Hall in Newtown, Pa.
Born in Pitt County, N.C., and later educated in the Princeton and Ewing Township school systems. She retired from the State of New Jersey after 42 years of service. She was a dedicated member of Friendship Baptist Church for more than 50 years.
Predeceased by her parents, Jesse and Maonia F. Staton, and her daughter, Sonia Foxworth, surviving are her three loving daughters, Wanda Staton-Riggins (Shurman) of Lawrenceville, Michele Roberts of Hamilton and Camille Glaze (Anthony Sr.) of Feasterville, Pa.; her husband, Leroy Roberts, Jr.; mother in-law, Wilma Roberts of Trenton; eight grandchildren, Latoya (Jerome), Kiara, Rasheda, Anthony Jr., Kabriea, Shurman Jahlil, Clyde and Tarek; five great-grandchildren, Malik, Aniya, Sanai, Marcus and Mariah; sisters, the Rev. Jessie Butler (Frank Jr.) of Pemberton, Deborah Langley (Jimmie) of Bell Arthur, N.C., Cathy Staton and Valerie Staton of Trenton and Beverly Staton of Morrisville, Pa.; brothers, Samson Staton (Betty Jo), Melvin Foreman (Marjorie) and James Staton (Louise) all of Greenville, N.C.; special cousin, Carlton Foreman (Sarah) of Lithonia, Ga.; aunts, Laura Staton of New Haven, Conn., Margie English (Matthew) of Trenton, Della Foreman of Greenville, N.C., and Jessie White of Ewing; an uncle, Clarence Staton of Clinton, Md.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday (Mar. 2) at Grace Cathedral Fellowship Ministries, 1217 Calhoun St., Trenton, NJ 08638. The Rev. John Taylor, Pastor of Friendship Baptist Church will be officiating.
Interment will be in Ewing Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Arrangements are by Campbell Funeral Chapel, Trenton.
