Craig T. "Pete" Bell Obituary
PENNINGTON - Craig T. "Pete" Bell, 85, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 2, 2014 after a brief stay at the hospice pavilion in Chandler Hall, Newtown, Pa. Pete, as he was more commonly known, was born June 9, 1928 in Wenham, Mass. After growing up in Beverly, Mass. and graduating from high school, Pete joined the U.S. Marine Corps and was very proud to be a Marine Sergeant veteran. He graduated from Colby College in Waterville, Maine in 1953. After moving to New Jersey, Pete married Carol Theresa Enright on August 25, 1956. They moved to Pennington in 1974. Pete retired from NECA (National Exchange Carrier Association) as Director of Data Systems in 1990.
Pete was the epitome of a gentleman and a scholar, from his impeccable etiquette to his extensive knowledge on most subjects. He had a true presence about him and was well liked and respected by those that knew him. Pete's passions were his family, beagle Buster, reading and his staunch Conservative Republican beliefs.
Pete was predeceased by his parents Gordon and Beatrice, his brother Gordon Jr. and his wife Carol. He is survived by his devoted daughter Barby (Bell) Mandy and son-in-law Don, his lifelong pal and son Peter Bell, daughter-in-law Debbie and his three treasured grandchildren Meghan, PJ, and Kathryn (whom he affectionately referred to as Katie) Bell. In addition, he will be especially remembered by his special friend Viola Udy, compatriot and kindred spirit John Mandy, as well as many additional family, friends and wonderful neighbors.
Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. this Wednesday, February 5, at the Wilson Apple Funeral Home, 2560 Pennington Road, Pennington. Burial will be private and take place in Beverly, Mass. To send a condolence, visit www.wilsonapple.com.
