Lee Helms Turano MONESSEN, Pa. - Lee Helms Turano, 100, of Monessen, PA, and formerly of Trenton, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2014 in Naveah Cove, N. Charleroi, PA. Born in Iron City, Georgia, on July 1, 1913, she was a Trenton area resident before moving to Charleroi, PA. twenty-two years ago. Mrs. Turano was a member of The Chambers United Methodist Church of Trenton, and had attended United Methodist Church of Monessen, PA. She enjoyed reading and gardening. Daughter of the late Belton and Jane Grover Helms; wife of the late Anthony J. Turano; sister of the late Irene, Dorothy, and William Helms; she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Samuel and Isabel Turano of Deltona, Florida; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ella and Ron Phillippi of Monessen, PA, with whom she resided, Carol DeTurk of New Mexico, and Charlotte and Robert Miller of New Jersey; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning, February 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Brenna Funeral Home, 340 Hamilton Avenue, Trenton, NJ. Pastor Jana Purkis-Brash of Chambers United Methodist Church, Trenton, will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton. Calling hours for family and friends will be on Monday evening February 10, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Brenna Funeral Home.
