Edward Gerard Dolton Jr. TRENTON - Edward Gerard Dolton Jr, 88 passed away Monday, March 10, 2014 at Southern Ocean County Nuring and Rehailitation Center in Manahawkin, with his family by his side. Born in Trenton, he had attended the Blessed Sacrament School, the Trenton Public School system and graduated from Trenton Central High School. Edward served in the US Navy Air Corp during WWII in the Pilot Training Program. He received a BS degree from LaSalle University, an MS in Bacteriology from Rutgers University and a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Sciences in Philadelphia. He owned and operated Dolton's Pharmacy in Bordentown, NJ for 40 years and also owned and operated Dolton Enterprise Constriction Company for several years. Edward was a past president and member of: the Bordentown Chamber of Commerce, the Bordentown Rotary Club, a Paul Harris Fellow, a long time member of the Bordentown Elks Lodge #2085, the American Legion Post 26 and former member of the Burlington County Country Club, the Toms River Country Club and the Seaside Park Yacht Club. He served as Chairman of the Bordentown Urban Renewal, which was given the State of NJ Award of over $70,000 for being among the first to complete its project. Ed was also a member of the American Pharmacist Association and NJ Pharmacy Association. He enjoyed fishing in his boat, golfing and playing with his grandchildren and retired to Seaside Park, NJ in 1998. Son of the late Edward Gerard Dolton and Mary Louise (O'Brien), beloved husband of 54 years to the late Ruth (Larkin) Dolton he is predeceased by his sister Grace Ruyak and her husband Edward and his brother-in-law Donald Foy. He is also predeceased by the Larkin family in-laws: Joseph and Betty, John and his wife Veronica, Peter, Albert and his wife Margaret, Francis and his wife Katherine, James and his wife Gloria, Edward and his wife Christina, Jeremiah and his wife Helen, Harry and his wife Madeline and William and his wife Marie. He is survived by his son, Edward Dolton and his wife Eileen of Brick, NJ his daughters: Mary Louise Altobelli and her husband Donald of Northfield, NJ, Kathleen Dolton and her husband John Turner of Somers Point, NJ, his sister Eleanor Foy of Wilton, CT, grandchildren: John Altobelli of Toms River and Maureen Altobelli of Boston, MA, Kelsey and Dolton Reading of Somers Point, NJ and Kierra and Edward Dolton of Brick, NJ. His first cousin, Helen Marie Dolton of West Trenton, NJ and sister-in-law, Rita Larkin Ott of Yardville, NJ as well as many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 12 noon Friday, March 14 at St. Mary's Church, 45 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamilton Township.
