Gene B. Hartnett Obituary
Gene B. Hartnett HAMILTON - Gene B. Hartnett, 89, of Hamilton Township, passed away on Monday at RWJ University Hospital at Hamilton. Born in Trenton, an Army Veteran of World War II, he was a lifelong Trenton/Hamilton area resident. Gene worked for SCM Corporation for most his career, later he worked for the NJSP as a carpenter. He was also a member of the Broad Street Park Rod and Gun Club. Gene will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Son of the late William J. and Olive M. Monk Hartnett, husband of the late Elizabeth Hartnett, father of the late Maureen McGrain, and brother of the late William, Jr. and Robert Hartnett, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Lawrence "Whitey" Jones; three sisters, his twin, Joyce Miller, Virginia Grainger, and Janet Phillips, two grandchildren and their spouses, Kimberly and Maxwell Smith, and Pamela and J.J. Baur; six great grandchildren; his longtime companion Maria Cooper; and a son-in-law John McGrain; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other family members. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Buklad Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad Street in Hamilton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. at Holy Angels Church, 1733 South Broad Street in Hamilton. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
