John Richard Pugliese Obituary
HAMILTON - John Richard Pugliese, 83, of Hamilton, died Monday at Compassionate Care Hospice in Trenton, NJ. Born in Trenton, NJ, he was a lifelong resident before moving to Hamilton Township in 2003. John was a graduate of Trenton Central High School. He was a Veteran of the US Army having served as a Sergeant during the Korean War in the HQ Battery 52nd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion, and was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal. After his honorable discharge in 1954, he served as a patrolman with the Trenton Police Department, firefighter with the Trenton Fire Department, and later retired as the Deputy State Fire Marshall after more than 25 years of service to the State of New Jersey. Devoted husband of the late Eleanor Bodnar Pugliese; son of the late Frank and Ella Hazel Snyder Pugliese; and brother of the late Frank Earl Pugliese and Katherine Pugliese Cimino, John is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law, Katherine and Douglas Klinefelter of Stevens, PA; Mary and Duane Kalczynski of Robbinsville, NJ; and Erica and Raymond O'Grady of Middletown, NJ. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Jeffrey and Matthew Kalczynski of Robbinsville and Connor and Catherine O'Grady of Middletown; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin Friday, May 9, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., at Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great RC Church, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. Interment will follow St. Mary of the Assumption Byzantine Catholic Cemetery #2 in Hamilton, NJ. Family and friends may call on Thursday, May 8, 2014, from 6:00 pm. to 9:00 p.m., at Saul Colonial Home.
