Philomena Angarone Obituary
HAMILTON - Philomena (Phyllis) Angarone, 86, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, June 13, 2014, at Arcadia Nursing Center.
Born in Montreal, Canada, on June 30, 1927, "Queenie" moved to Trenton to marry her late husband of 65 years, Louis Angarone, speaking only Italian and French. She quickly learned English and eventually worked in public service for the New Jersey Department of Treasury for 20 years retiring in 1993 as a general services supervisor. Queenie was a devoted mother whose life centered around her family and had a wry smile that she shared, most often with her beloved husband. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking, bowling with the Loyal Order of the Moose, and trips to Atlantic City casinos.
Daughter of the late Nicola DeBonis and Mary Grano, and sister to the late Frank, Albert, Dominic, Victor, Louis, Pauline and Ernesto DeBonis, she is survived by her sisters, Helen, Ida and Yolanda, all of Canada; son, Michael Angarone and his wife Mary of Hamilton, daughter, Mary Ann Angarone of Robbinsville; grandchildren, Nicholas Angarone and his wife Katrina of Pennington, Rachel Angarone of Bordentown and Krista Filipponi and her husband Nicholas of Bordentown; four great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Nicholas, Anastasia and Elias; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call on Tuesday, June 17, from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at the Hartmann Funeral Home, 2830 Nottingham Way, Hamilton, NJ 08619. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 343 South Broad St., Trenton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Greater NJ Chapter of the , 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
