TRENTON - Willie James Francis, 79, of Trenton, affectionately known as "Chill Will" by family and friends, peacefully departed this life on Friday, July 4, 2014.
Born in Bartow, Washington County, Ga. Mr. Francis was a resident of Trenton for most of his life. Willie Francis was a member of St. Paul AME Church in Ewing.
He was employed by Zettler's Foods for more than 40 years before retiring. Willie Francis was a member of the Masons for 35 years and served with Prince of Peace No.156, of Trenton, where he was Past Master of the lodge; a member of all houses of the International F&AMM Inc.; and he was a 32nd Degree Mason.
He was predeceased by his wife, Emma J. Francis; his parents, Hezekiah and Annie B. Francis, daughter, Sharon J. Lewis, sisters, Cherry L. Francis and Willie Mae Christie, brothers, Hezekiah "Hezie" Francis, Ulysses Francis and Thomas Francis, three grandchildren, Terrance Francis, Martin Francis Jr. and Mekiala Francis.
Surviving are his children, Tyrone (Krystal)Francis, Sonya Francis Brown, Martin (Brenda) Francis, Monica (Hendrix) Dickens, Bridgette (Alex) Tilica and Ulysses Francis; his beloved sister, Helen Holliday; 15 grandchildren,22 great-grandchildren; special friends, Joan Cox-Keith and Loraine Bolin and Raymon C. Brown; his Masonic brothers and sisters, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul AME Zion Church, 1130 Lower Ferry Road, Ewing, NJ 08618. Interment will be in Ewing Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church with Masonic services beginning at 10 a.m. Arrangements are by Campbell Funeral Chapel, Trenton.
