Madeline J. Sprague Obituary
HAMILTON - Madeline J. Sprague, 81, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 31, 2014, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Trenton, Madeline was a lifetime area resident. Beloved wife of the late Robert L. Sprague Sr., she was predeceased by her parents, Gaetano and Anna Ballone of Trenton, and her sister, Gloria Peterson of Morrisville, Pa. She is survived by her brother, Nicholas Ballone of Columbus; her son, Robert L. Sprague Jr. of Philadelphia, Pa., her daughters and sons-in-law Anna and Ira Brodsky of Union Mills, N.C. and Carol and Ted Kmetz of Shamong, her son and daughter-in-law, John and Melissa Sprague of Hamilton; her grandchildren, Jason Sprague, Jenny Sprague Fischer and her husband Paul, Michael Saxton, Christopher Saxton and his wife Ruth, and Alexander Sprague; her great-grandchildren, Tyler and Jonathan Sprague, Jane Fischer, Trevor Saxton and Ean Saxton, as well as several step-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Madeline was a devoted mother and grandmother. For many years she enjoyed working as a waitress at Woolworths in Quaker Bridge Mall. She also worked at Acme Market in Yardville and as a bus aide with Bordentown Regional School District. She was a member of St. Raphael's / Holy Angels Parish, the Alter Rosary Society and the San Calogero Society. Madeline enjoyed cooking, traveling, and watching classic movies. Known for her warmth, humor and cheerful smile, Madeline brought joy and love to all of those around her.
Funeral service will be Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. from Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton (www.KingstonandKemp.com). Funeral mass will follow at 9:30 a.m. at St. Raphael's Church, 3500 S. Broad St., Hamilton. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
