ROBBINSVILLE - Rose Lillian Pelicano, age 92, of Robbinsville, passed away peacefully August 2, 2014 surrounded by her loving family at her residence.
Born in Dunbar, Pa., Rose was a graduate of Dunbar High School and came to Trenton at the age of 18. She worked for General Motors earning the title "First Woman Forklift Driver."
Shortly thereafter Rose met the love of her life at which time she began her career as a mother. She will be remembered for making her famous Italian meatballs, her love of music, especially playing the accordion, her love for shopping, fashion, all things shiny, sparkly and leopard, her fabulous Christmas Eve parties, and for being classy and poised at all times.
Predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Josephine Spagnola Alessi, siblings, Joseph Alessi, Jim Alessi, Vincent Alessi, Phyllis Hucman, Josephine Novonglosky, and Anne Arnell, and her husband of 56 years Dominick Peter Pelicano, she is survived by three daughters, Angela and spouse Louis Caponi of Robbinsville, Joanne and spouse Bill Gronikowski of Hamilton and Pamela and spouse Steve Kanickij of Hamilton; a son and spouse Pete and Nancy Pelicano of New Hope Pa.; a brother, Freddy Alessi; two sisters, Pauline Halasz and Maryjane Crutchley; a sister-in-law, Sheila Alessi; grandchildren, Todd Caponi, Scott and Laura Caponi, Marc Caponi, Matt Caponi, Karen Gronikowski, Bill and Eva Gronikowski, Jason and Andrea Pelicano, Damon and MaryAngela Pelicano, Melody Pelicano, Jacqueline Pelicano, Krystal Kanickij, Blake and Kristen Kanickij, and Brittany Kanickij; great-grandchildren, Valerie, Natalie, Stevie, Jacob, Jessica, CJ, Nico, Enzo and Max; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamilton. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. at the Hartmann Memorial Home, 2830 Nottingham Way, Mercerville, NJ 08619.
