Obituary Condolences

EWING - Kenneth Gordon Herbst, 64, of Ewing Township, passed from this world on the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 15, 2010.
He was born in Jersey City to Beatrice and Bernard Herbst on Oct. 6, 1946 and was a lifelong resident of New Jersey. He was a Rutgers University and Rutgers School of Business graduate. Ken was not only well versed in the business world but also in fields such as sociology, philosophy and religion. He went on to work as a field auditor for private companies prior to working for the Department of Health with the State of New Jersey in 1977 and later the Office of Information Technology. Among many of his accomplishments, Ken was an associate of Enrolled Agents for the IRS, a tax consultant, a member of the Institute of International Auditors and received the President's Award in 1991. He was also granted membership to the Certified International Auditors in 1991, and was an active participant for the Ewing Democrats. Ken was dedicated to his family, close friends, and acquaintances alike. Ken's optimism and light were contagious, helping those around him in even the most trying circumstances with his large, bright smile. Ken loved music, especially classic rock and also enjoyed watching his beloved Giants, as well as the Phillies and Flyers. Ken's love and light touched many lives, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts forever. He will be dearly missed as a husband, father, uncle, cousin, brother-in-law and friend.
Son of the late Bernard and Beatrice Herbst, he is survived by his wife, Holly Gervasoni; his daughter, Aradia Sophia; his son, Corey Justin; a brother-in-law, Jim; a sister-in-law, Saroja; nieces, Isabella and Alisha; nephews, Johnathan and James; and beloved and cherished cousins, Shelley, Rich, and Rowan Baluta of Glen Gardener.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday from the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church, S. Olden Ave., Trenton. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cedar Lane, Hamilton. Friends and family may call from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home.
