Clarence E. Phillips Sr.

Obituary Condolences

Clarence E. Phillips Sr., 68, died Thursday at Mid State Medical Center, Meriden, Conn.
Born in Metter, Ga., Mr. Phillips received his early education in Metter and Cincinnati, Ohio before moving to Trenton, N.J. He graduated in 1960 from Trenton Central High School. He continued his education at Howard University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in architecture in 1969 and in the early 1970s received his master's degree in architecture and city planning from Yale University. He held several architectural positions with the cities of New Haven and Hartford, Conn.
He was baptized at the Trenton Church of Christ in the mid 1950s. He was a member of the New Haven Church of Christ.
Predeceased by his parents, Bossie and Katie Phillips, siblings, Albert, Sherman, James, Robert, Mildred and Sally Mae, surviving are his wife, Betty J. Phillips; a daughter, Stevi Fore (Larry) of New Jersey; three sons, Stephen McRae of New Jersey, Clarence E. Jr. of Connecticut and Stanley of Arkansas; six grandchildren; a sister, Emma McDonald of Florida; four brothers, Theodore (Lucille), Ruben, Charles Sr. all of Trenton and Paul Sr. (Mary) of Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Church of Christ, 411 N. Clinton Ave., Trenton. Interment will be in Ewing Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Arrangements are by Campbell Funeral Chapel, Trenton.
