HAMILTON - Kathryn Ann Ireland (nee Krystaponis) of Hamilton Township, 56, entered into eternal rest on Nov. 16, 2010, at home.
Kathy was born and raised in Princeton. She graduated from St. Paul's School, Notre Dame High School, and attended Mercer County College. Kathy was formerly employed by Princeton University and Rick Bus Co.. She was a member of Saint Anthony's Roman Catholic Church of Trenton, and a former member of Saint Paul's Roman Catholic Church of Princeton.
Kathy loved her family and friends. She was a gifted baker and cook, and a kind caregiver. She was a second mother to those less fortunate, providing warm meals and kind advice. Kathy will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Richard Ireland Sr., and grandparents, Josephine and Henry Recke Sr., and Tessie and Anthony Krystaponis Sr. Kathy is survived by her loving sons, Jeffery and Jason Ireland at home; her caring parents, Marie and Anthony Krystaponis Jr. of Wareton, formerly of Princeton; her loving sister, Ann Marie Barnwell of Hamilton; brothers and sisters-in-law, A. John III (Lisa) of Louisville, Ky., and Michael (Michele) of Ewing. Also surviving are her caring nephews and nieces, James Krystaponis, Vincent Barnwell III, and Amanda, Martha, Theresa, Melisa, Lori Krystaponis, and Kerry Ann and Erin Marie Barnwell. Kathy is also survived by her dear stepchildren, Richard Ireland Jr., Kathy Mikos and Lisa Tilton. Also surviving are a caring aunt and godmother, Elizabeth Pirone (John) of Princeton; dear aunts and uncles, Gloria Recke O'Beirne (Kevin), Linda Recke Luther (Joseph III) of Plainsboro, Etta Recke of Lawrenceville, Mary Jo Recke Bell (Orville) of East Windsor, Henry Recke Jr. of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; and all her many dear cousins and loyal friends.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 27) at Saint Paul's Roman Catholic Church, 214 Nassau St, Princeton. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of David C. Chiacchio, of The Chiacchio Southview Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made in Kathy's name to CINJ Hamilton, 5 Hamilton Health Place, Hamilton, NJ 08690.
