HAMILTON - Ruth Gaffney, 82, of Hamilton, passed away Sunday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
Born in Trenton, she was an area resident all of her life. Ruth, along with her late husband Joseph, was the owner and operator of Goeke Rest Home in Hamilton. She loved to travel and was an avid NY Yankees fan.
Daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Wolf Goeke, sister of the late Fr. Jordan Goeke O.F.M. Conv. and Bette M. Goeke, and wife of the late Joseph L. Gaffney, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jay and Cynthia Gaffney of Chesterfield, her daughter Mary E. Gaffney of Yardville, her grandchildren Jordan Gaffney of Trenton and Maureen Soto and husband Axel of Trenton, her great-grandchildren AJ and Noah Soto and her sister, Sister Jordan Marie Goeke O.S.F.
Funeral service will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. from Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton (
). Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Raphael's Church, 3500 S. Broad St., Hamilton.
Interment follows at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton. Relatives and friends may call on Friday, 9-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
