COLUMBUS - Florinda Delores "Flo" Gervasi, 86, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at Manahawkin Rehabilitation Center in Manahawkin.
Born in Perth Amboy, she resided in Trenton and Mercerville before moving to Columbus. She was employed by Lerner Shoppes for 25 years, and was a store manager and head tailor for Parkway Cleaners. Florinda was a former member of Blessed Sacrament in Trenton, and Our Lady of Sorrows in Hamilton, she is a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Bordentown, St. Mary's Altar Rosary Society and Church Prefect. She was also a member of the Bordentown Elks, and the Italian American Sportsmen Club Hamilton. Florinda enjoyed bowling, sewing, reading, playing cards, and trips to Atlantic City, with her best friend Tessie.
Predeceased by her parents, Adelino and Floripes Batista, and her husband, James V. Gervasi, she is survived by her children and their spouses, Karen and Doug Harvey, James and Diane Gervasi, and Donna Collins, and her grandchildren, Danny and Dana Gervasi, and Jimmy, Nicky, Eddie and Arielle Collins, and her step-grandchild, Michael Collins and his family.
A memorial gathering will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by a prayer service on Monday, November 26, 2012, at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ 08690.
Cremation and entombment services will be private.
