Joseph R. Jablonski, 87, of Hamilton passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
Born on March 19, 1925 in Manville, Joseph was a Hamilton resident for more than 60 years. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force as a Flight Engineer during WWII in the 8th Air Force, 306th Bomber Group, where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. After the war, he attended Rider College and earned a degree in Accounting. He worked at General Electric and, later, retired in 1987 from the State of New Jersey, Dept. of the Treasury, Division of Pensions. He was a member of St. Raphael's/ Holy Angels Parish, St. Raphael's Holy Name Society and the Hamilton Golden Nuggets Seniors Club.
Son of the late Frank and Josephine Jablonski and brother of the late Chester, Frank, Laura, Annie and Stella, Joseph is survived by his wife of 64 years; Mary Laba Jablonski; his sons and daughters-in-law; Joseph and Jo Ann; of Monroe, NC, and Richard and Dottie; of Hamilton, his grandchildren; Elizabeth; Steven and his wife Amy; Joseph and his wife Martha; Kathryn; and Sharon Grant and her husband Patrick; his great-grandchildren; William; Emma; Issak; Andrew; Naomi; Fiona and Patrick and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be on Tuesday (Jan. 15) at 8:30 a.m. from Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton (www.KingstonandKemp.com). Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at St. Raphael's Church, 3500 S. Broad St., Hamilton. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Mausoleum, Hamilton. Relatives and friends may call on Monday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
