TRENTON - William A. "Willie" Derry, 73, of Trenton, departed this life on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Capital Health Regional Medical Center, Hopewell.
Born in Trenton, Willie was a lifelong resident. He was educated in the Trenton public school system. He retired from Forrestal Research in Princeton as a lab technician after 42 years of dedicated service.
Predeceased by his parents, Percy Derry, Sr. and Mable Cosby-Derry, two brothers, Stanley Derry, Sr. and Robert Derry, surviving are his loving wife, Gail Derry; two daughters, Donna (Kevin) Smith of Clinton Township, Mich. and Brandy Derry of Trenton; three goddaughters, Sonya (Aaron) Auten, Adriane and Mary Ridley; one godson, Dana Ridley all of whom he loved and raised as his own; 11 grandchildren including, Brittany Derry, Charlie Green of Trenton, Janay and Kelsey Smith of Michigan; mother-in-law, Evelyn Willis; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Carl Derry, Percy, Jr.(Justine) Derry, Frances Spivey and Jeri Smith; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Barbara Derry, Dorothy and Glenn McCoy, Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including Kirk Garvin and Billy Hollis.
Funeral services will be Friday (Feb. 8) at 1 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Chapel, 1225 Calhoun St., Trenton.
Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton. Calling hours will be Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
