TRENTON - Charles J. DiRaimondo (Raymond), 90, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident. Chally was a graduate of Trenton Central High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Following his years in the service, he was employed by the Ordinance Department at Fort Dix and as the supervisor of the Finger Printing Bureau at the New Jersey State Police Headquarters in West Trenton.
Chally was a devoted husband, a loving brother and a caring uncle. He was a long time parishioner of St. James Catholic Church in North Trenton, he loved animals, and enjoyed all sports, especially baseball, hunting and fishing. He found his greatest joy as an avid gardener.
Charles was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Rose (Bonfanti) DiRaimondo (Raymond), two sisters, Mildred Smeraldi and Josephine Geraci, Chally is survived by his wife, Catherine (D'Amico) DiRaimondo; his sister, Mary Lanzoni, sister and brother-in-law, Rose and David Majofsky, and sister, Clara Stefane; a sister-in-law, Dolores D'Amico; uncle and aunt, Vincent and Emily Bonfanti; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 14) at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, Morris Hall, 1 Bishop Drive, Lawrenceville. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton. Calling hours will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the chapel prior to Mass.
