HAMILTON - Darren A. Voacolo, 46, of Hamilton, passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton. |
Born in Trenton, Mr. Voacolo was a lifelong area resident. He was a State of New Jersey Department of Corrections officer for the past nine years at the Trenton State Prison. He enjoyed watching his boys excel in sports; fishing trips with his sons and he was a New York Yankees fan.
Son of the late Ronald and Patricia (Gogan) Voacolo, grandson of the late Mary Gogan, uncle of the late Barry Hill, he is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Tracy (Scartocci) Voacolo; his three sons, Brian, Louis and Ronald Voacolo; two sisters, Lisa and her husband Ronald Canulli, and Terri Korchick; three sisters-in-law, Brenda and her husband Bob Brockell, Michelle Amantia, and Mary Lou Colon; eight nieces and nephews, Nicholas, Kelly-Ann and Daniel Korchick, Anthony and Adrianna Canulli, Brianna and Alexa Brockell, and Anthony Amantia; and many other family members and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 19) at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3816 East State St. Extension, Hamilton, NJ 08619. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton. Family and friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and again on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in his memory for the benefit of his sons. Checks should be made payable to Brian Voacolo and mailed in care of PNC Bank, 4631 Nottingham Way, Hamilton, NJ 08690.
