Born in Trenton, Mrs. McKithen was a lifelong area resident. She attended Villa Victoria Academy from kindergarten until her high school graduation. She continued her education at the University of Virginia where she earned Bachelor and Master Degrees in education. She received her Principal Certification from the College of New Jersey. She was a teacher at the Village Charter School and most recently was an Assistant Principal at Due Seasons Charter School in Camden. She was also a member of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa Inc. Pi Chapter.
She is survived by her husband; Kelly Dwain McKithen; two sons; Kali and Kameron McKithen; her father; Gerald E. Matlock Sr.; mother; Sandra P. Matlock; a brother; Gerald E. Matlock Jr.; father-in law; Kelly J. McKithen; mother-in law; Mary E. McKithen; three brother -in -laws; Aubrey (Allyson); Dennis; Marc; four sisters-in laws; Kym (Willie); Gwendolyn; Anika; Pamela Green-McKithen; three paternal uncles; Charles; Robert (Deborah); and Donald; four paternal aunts; Charlene (Robert) Thomas; Paula (Marion) Terry; Ethel Lynn (Roy) Whetstone and Loletta Matlock; maternal aunt; Justine (Percy) Derry; uncle; Phillip (Deborah) Green; nephew; Anthony T. Matlock; nieces; Eppiphany Polk; Kelly Williams; Danielle Beckles; Gabrielle and Mara McKithen; Ciera Matlock; many cousins and friends including Special friends Shawnette Patterson and Samantha Wright.
Funeral Services will be Saturday (Feb. 23) at noon at Cadawalder Asbury United Methodist Church 900 Stuyvesant Ave. Trenton, NJ 08618. Interment will be in Ewing Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the chapel.
Arrangements are by Campbell Funeral Chapel, Trenton.
