Obituary Condolences

JACKSON - John Richard Demspey, 77, of Jackson Township, passed away on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Centra State Medical Center, Freehold Township. John was born in Trenton, and had resided in Trenton until settling in Jackson six years ago. John was employed by Mercer County Airport in Ewing as a groundskeeper for 14 years before his retirement. He was a communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church in Jackson Township. He was also a member of the Holy Name Society at Immaculate Conception Church in Trenton before moving to Jackson.
The greatest love of his life was his wife, Joyce. John also loved fishing, Disney World, roller coasters, talking to strangers, and his dog, Peanut. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Demspey. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joyce; his daughters, Debbie Vitella and her husband Mike of Freehold and Linda Sokolowski and her husband Rich of Trenton; his sister, Maryann Coleman and her husband Dennis of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; his sisters-in-law, Erma Zarilli of Princeton and Doloras Pica; his grandsons, Kevin Vitella of Philadelphia and Christopher Vitella of Freehold; many nieces and nephews, friends and cousins.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at The George S. Hassler Funeral Home, 980 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson Township, NJ 08527. (732)364-6808. His Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson Township. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to the Humane Society, PO Box 43, Forked River, NJ 08731, or to the NJ SPCA, 119 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick, NJ 08901 and would be greatly appreciated.
