PENNSAUKEN - Delores Jean "Pinky" (Watts) Benson, 71, of Pennsauken, departed this life on Mar. 4, 2013.
Born in Montgomery, Ala., Delores relocated at an early age to Trenton, and was educated in both the Trenton parochial and public school systems. A graduate of Trenton High School in 1959, she also attended Mercer County Community College. Delores was employed for many years doing social work at United Progress Inc. (UPI).
She was predeceased by her husband, Cloyd Benson, her parents, A.D. and Alberta Watts, a granddaughter, Jhana Ferguson. Surviving are two daughters, Sherri Small (Ken) and Erica Ferguson; three granddaughters, Jasmine and Jaela Small and Sakile Ferguson; four grandsons, Joshua and Jordan Small, Obataiye and Isa Ferguson; her father, James Brown of Birmingham, Ala.; two brothers, Willie Watts and Robert Brown; two sisters, Marcella Starling and Betty Brown; two brothers-in-law, Grover and McLeod Benson; four sisters-in-law, Rachel, Mamie, Edie and Sharon Benson; several aunts and uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday (Mar. 9) at Campbell Funeral Chapel, 1225 Calhoun St., Trenton.
Interment will be in Ewing Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the chapel.
